Nutritionist Approved, Inc.

Daniella Chace, president of NAI, is a clinical nutritionist, health educator, and author of numerous books on nutrition.  Her innovative Nutrition Shelf Talker Program© is the culmination of her university studies, clinical and consulting practices, and research for her numerous books and columns.

NUTRITION EDUCATION

Daniella received a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Health Sciences and a Master's Degree in Nutrition from BastyrUniversity in Seattle—the first fully accredited NaturalHealthSciencesUniversity in the United States.  With a heavy medical and food science focus, this background gave Daniella the critical thinking skills and scientific knowledge required to navigate and understand the vast amount of nutrition information being produced today.

PRACTICAL RETAIL EXPERIENCE

While studying at BastyrUniversity, Daniella also worked as a natural foods buyer for an innovative chain of gourmet grocery stores, where she learned the effectiveness of shelf talkers in increasing sales and retaining the store’s customer base.

CONSULTANT

As a consultant to the food industry, Daniella designed a line of medicinal breads for Bigwood Bakery in Ketchum, Idaho, created her own line of healthy candy for diabetics, and helped numerous successful natural foods manufacturers develop their food products for market.

AUTHOR

Daniella has authored 16 books on health and nutrition with a focus on medical nutrition therapy. Years of reviewing original medical studies has given her access to the medical and nutritional information that inform the Nutrition Shelf Talkers©.

CLINICAL PRACTICE

Daniella's books, and her reputation for expertise in oncology and toxicology, have attracted clients from around the world to her private practice in Hailey, Idaho.  As an extension of her clinical practice, Daniella began to take clients to the local grocery stores to look at the products she recommended in their personal sessions, and to answer client questions such as, "Does albacore tuna have too much mercury, and if so, what alternatives do I have?" These walks resulted in the creation of Daniella's Nutrition Storewalk Program—a tasting and nutrition information tour offering clients and customers answers to their questions based on the latest scientific research.  Daniella's discovery that the store tours built customer loyalty and sharply increased the sale of natural foods led her to develop NAI's innovative Nutrition Shelf Talker Program© for mainstream grocery stores across the country.
